Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the rational application of the positive end-expiratory pressure(PEEP) mechanical ventilation in severe acute phosgene poisoning. Methods: The data of arterial blood gas, oxygenation index(PaO2/ Fi2),blood pressure, respiratory rate(R) of 7 cases with severe acute phosgene poisoning treated with different PEEP were analysed. Results: The pH value,PaCO2,PaO2/ Fi2 and R of 7 patients were obviously improved after PEEP mechanical ventilation based on the basic treatment(P 0.01),and which efficiency were 100%.Conclusions: The reasonable application of PEEP in patients with severe acute phosgene poisoning can improve oxygenation index and increase cure rate.
