Abstract:
Objective: To assess the Influence of sperm DNA damage on the outcomes in vitro fertilization(IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI).Methods: The sperm DNA damage level of the infertile men undergoing IVF or ICSI was detected by the sperm chromatin dispersion test, and they were divided into two groups by the sperm DNA damage level 15%.The fertilization rate, good quality embryo rate, live birth rate and abortion rate of the two groups were observed and compared. Results: The sperm density, sperm motility, normal sperm morphology, sperm acrosomal enzyme, good quality embryo rate and live birth rate in DNA damage group were significantly lower than the variables in normal group(P 0.01),the ICSI fertilization rate in DNA damage group was significantly higher than that in normal group(P 0.01).There was no significant difference on statistic in the abortion rate between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusions: Sperm DNA damage detection may help to predict the outcome of IVF and ICSI to a certain extent.
