Abstract:
Objective:To explore the effect of candesartan on ventricular remodeling and cardiac function in coronary heart disease patients with chronic heart failure. Methods:One hundred coronary heart disease patients with chronic heart failure were randomly divided into two groups, including treatment group and control group. All the patients were basically treated with cardiotonic, diuretic, phlebectasis medicine. The patients in control group were additionally treated with captopril (from low dose to target dose) for 12 months, and the patients in treatment group were additionally treated with candesartan (from low dose to target dose) for 12 months. All the patients were observed the changes of therapy, such as left ventricular ejection fraction, left ventricular end-diastolic dimension, left ventricular end-systolic dimension, interventricular septal thickness, left ventricular posterior wall thickness and cardiothoracic ratio. Results:Both the control group and the treatment group showed significant improvement in ventricular remodeling and cardiac function (
P<0.01),whereas there was no statistical difference in ventricular remodeling and cardiac function detected between two groups (
P>0.05).Conclusions:Candesartan showed the same favorable effects as Captopril on ventricular remodeling and cardiac function in chronic heart failure patient with coronary heart disease.
