Abstract:
Objective: To study the changes of plasma nitric oxide(NO),calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP),endothelin(ET),resistin and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1) levels in the patients with pre-hypertension.
Methods: A total 60 patients which had continuous blood pressure records were divided into hypertension group 30 cases and prehypertension group 30 cases, the other 30 healthy people were as control group according to blood pressure level. The changes of serum NO,CGRP,ET,resistin and MCP-1 levels among the three groups were evaluated.
Results: The serum NO and CGRP levels in the hypertension and pre-hypertension groups were significantly reduced compared with those in normal control group(
P<0.01),ET,MCP-1 and resistin levels were higher than those in normal control group(
P<0.05 to
P<0.01).Serum NO and CGRP levels in hypertension group were significantly lower than those in pre-hypertension group(
P<0.01),while ET,MCP-1 and resistin levels were significantly higher than those in pre-hypertension group(
P<0.01).
Conclusions: The endothelial cell function is significantly damaged in high blood pressure patients, representing with metabolic imbalances of serum NO,CGRP,ET,resistin and MCP-1;endothelial cell dysfunction is also emerged in the patients with pre-hypertension.
