Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the effects of acellular allogeneic dermis scaffold and autologous skin composite transplantation on repairing skin defects resulting from burn injury or scar removal on skin appearance and observe the functions after burn repair and scar revision. Methods: Six wounds resulted from escharectomy in 4 cases of burns and 5 wounds of scar revision in 3 cases were applied with acellular allogeneic dermis scaffold and autologous split-thickness skin composite transplantationon. Results: All the 11 wounds were repaired with this method, healed primary and the skin grew well. After following-up for 4 to 6 months, there was no apparent scar contracture, and the skin had a good elasticity, appearance and functions were all satisfactory. Conclusions: The wounds of burn repair and scar revision healed well and the skin appearance and functions were satisfactory after the application of acellular allogeneic dermis scaffold and autologous skin composite transplantation.
