Abstract:
Objective To investigate the application effects of surgical nursing shift guidance sheet based on handover concept of color and situation-background-assessment-recommendation (SBAR) in department of general surgery.
Methods A total of 319 inpatients undergoing grade III-IV surgery and 68 surgical nurses in general surgery department were selected as the research objects between March 2022 and May 2023, which included 155 patients and 30 nurses in routine control group between March and September 2022, and 164 patients and 38 nurses in guidance sheet handover group between November 2022 and May 2023. The routine control group were given routine shift change, while the guideline sheet handover group were given shift change based on surgical nursing shift guidance sheet. The nurse satisfaction with handoverNursing Assessment of Shift Report (NASR), qualification rate of handover, nursing quality and doctors satisfaction were compared between two groups.
Results The NASR score in the guideline sheet handover group was higher than those in routine control group (P < 0.05), the unqualified rate in the guideline sheet handover group was lower than that in routine control group (7.89% vs 30.00%, P < 0.05), the qualification rate of perioperative nursing quality in the guideline sheet handover group was higher than that in routine control group (94.74% vs 73.33%, P < 0.05), and the score of doctors satisfaction in the guideline sheet handover group was higher than that in routine control group (P < 0.05).
Conclusions The application of surgical nursing shift guidance sheet based on handover concept of color and SBAR in department of general surgery is beneficial to improve the nursing quality, qualification rate of handover and satisfaction of doctors and nurses.
