Abstract:
Objective: To study the relationship between myeloperoxidase-463 G/A genetic polymorphism(MPO)and coronary heart disease(CHD).
Methods: A case-control study was performed in 60 CHD patients proved by angiography and 69 controls with no history of CHD or stroke.PCR-RFLP methods were used to decide the genotype of the patients, and the statistical analysis was carried out.
Results: The risk of CHD in the genotype carrying at least one A allele was 0.208 times that of the GG genotype;the risk of CHD in the genotype carrying A allele was 0.229 times that of carrying G allele.
Conclusions: Myeloperoxidase-463G/A polymorphism of the MPO gene influences the risk of CHD.And A allele has protective effect on the occurrence of CHD.
