Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effects of operation video combined with workshop teaching on the skill operation of clinical interns, and provide the reference for improving the skill teaching method.
Methods Thirty-eight undergraduate trainees of clinical medicine who started to receive pre-job skills training in April 2022 were selected as the control group, and 42 undergraduate trainees of clinical medicine who started to receive pre-job skills training in April 2023 were selected as the observation group. Two groups received 1-week pre-job skills training with the same skills training programs and teachers. The control group received pre-job skill training with conventional teaching method, and the observation group received pre-job skill training with operation video combined workshop teaching mode. The results of skill assessment, evaluation of skill training mode and satisfaction of skill teaching were compared between two groups.
Results The test scores in the observation group were significantly better than those in control group (P < 0.01). The evaluation of skill training mode in the observation group was significantly better than that in control group (P < 0.01), and the satisfaction with skill teaching in the observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P < 0.01).
Conclusions The operation video combined with workshop teaching can improve the students' interest in learning, strengthen the mastery of the key steps in the operation, and promote the communication among the students. Therefore, it can improve the performance of intern skill assessment and training satisfaction, which is worthy of promotion and implementation in clinical skill training.
