Abstract:
Objective: To study the value of two-dimensional and color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of thyroid cancer.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 67 cases (a total of 72 nodules) of thyroid cancer was summarized, including their ultrasonographic images, border, capsule, internal echo, calcification, the characteristics of blood flows within and around the tumors and lymph node metastasis.
Results: In 67 cases (72 nodules),66 cases with internal echo were showed with substantial echo (including 59 low-echo,6 iso-echo,1 high-echo),6 mixed echo;24 sand-like calcified nodules;nodular irregular in shape, the border was not clear;30 with incomplete capsule;65 with nodular peripheral and internal flow signals;29 with lymph node metastasis.
Conclusions: Sonographic features of thyroid cancer has a high specificity, ultrasonography has a great value on early diagnosis of thyroid cancer, and it can provide an important clinical basis for surgical treatment, and it is useful for prognosis and following up.
