Abstract:
Objective: To explore the relationship between
Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and immune thrombocytopenia(ITP) in children.
Methods: One hundred and four children with ITP and 30 healthy children were performed Hp antibodies examination using immunochromatographic assay, and all the ITP patients with Hp infection received triple therapy for two weeks.
Results: Fifty-four of the 104 cases with ITP proved to have positive Hp(51.92%),while there were only 8 cases in the healthy group presenting positive Hp(26.67%);the positive rate of Hp antibodies was higher in the ITP group than in the normal control(
P<0.05).After triple therapy, complete response was observed in 36 of the 54 cases with Hp infection, partial response in 15 cases and no response in 3 cases;the total effective rate was 94.44%.
Conclusions: Hp infection is associated with the TIP in children.
