Abstract:
ObjectiveTo translate the Oxford Knee Score (OKS) to form the Chinese version of OKS and validate its reliability and validity, to improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
MethodsThe English version of OKS was translated, cross-culturally adapted and revised to form the Chinese version of OKS.Then one hundred patients with knee osteoarthritis were selected for initial test, and 30 patients of them were selected for retest to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale.
ResultsThe Chinese version of OKS had good retest reliability and internal reliability. The intraclass correlation coefficient and Cronbach's α coefficient both in initial test and retest was above 0.8.The scale had good content validity and structure validity.Spearman correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficient was above 0.7 in all items of this scale, the correlation coefficient was above 0.4 between this scale and corresponding sub-items of SF-36 scale, and the correlation coefficient was also above 0.4 between this scale and VAS scale.
ConclusionsThe Chinese version of OKS has good reliability and validity, which can be used to evaluate the knee joint function of patients with knee osteoarthritis in mainland China.
