Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the serum level of interleukin(IL)-18 in laryngeal cancer.
Methods: The IL-18 concentration in sera was measured in 22 patients with laryngeal cancer, and 10 health control subjects by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).
Results: The concentration of IL-18 in patients with laryngeal cancer(68.44±39.42)pg/ml was significantly higher than that of health control subjects(28.47±2.29)pg/ml(
P<0.001).
Conclusions: The IL-18 is higher in patients with laryngeal cancer. The concentration of IL-18 may be an important biochemistry predictive sign in assistant diagnoses and monitoring the changes in patients with laryngeal cancer.
