Abstract:
Objective: To analyze the correlative factors of ocular trauma and to take effective nursing measures to improve the vision and reduce the rate of blindness.
Methods: A retrospective clinical analysis of correlative factors of ocular trauma was performed on 132 admission cases(135 eyes) in 2004 and to find out the points of nursing care.
Results: The patients with ocular trauma accounted for 16.79% of the admission cases in the same period. Most of the ocular trauma patients were children, students and the youth. The patients’occupations were mainly students, farmers and no-jobs.Fifty-six(42.42%) cases went to hospital within 24 hours after injury and 76(57.58%) cases after 24 hours.Blindness occurred in 29 eyes, with a blindness rate of 21.48%.
Conclusions: Preventive measures,first-aid and health education on nursing care should be strengthened and the patients should also have self-protective consciousness so as to reduce the rate of ocular trauma and blindness.
