Abstract:
Objective To analyze the differentially expressed proteins in serum exosomes of patients with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and healthy individuals, and provide a basis for the early diagnosis of COPD and discovery of therapeutic targets.
Methods The serum samples were collected from 10 patients with stable COPD and 10 healthy individuals undergoing physical examinations, and the exosome proteins samples were extracted from two groups. These proteins were quantitatively analyzed using theindependent data acquisition (DIA) quantitative proteomics technology, and the bioinformatics analysis was conducted on differentially expressed proteins.
Results Compared with the healthy physical examination group, a total of 103 differentially expressed proteins were screened out in the COPD group, among which 69 were up-regulated and 34 were down-regulated. Three potential protein markers that may be related to the occurrence and development of COPD were initially screened out: vimentin, high mobility group protein B1 and integrin subunit β2 protein.
Conclusions Differentially expressed proteins exist in the serum exosomes of COPD patients. These proteins have the potential to serve as biomarkers for the early diagnosis of COPD, and can provide evidence for clarifying the pathogenesis of this disease.
