Abstract:
Objective:To explore the value of compound trabeculectomy in treatment of glaucoma with persistent high intraocular pressure(IOP).
Methods:Twenty-six cases (26 eyes) of uncontrolled glaucoma were treated with compound trabeculectomy.
Results:The operation was successful in all the cases. No perichoroidal space bleeding or prolapse of vitreous occurred.During the follow-up of 2-12 months, the IOP was less than 21 mmHg in 23 eyes. The vision of 20 eyes was improved.
Conclusions:Compound trabeculectomy is safe and effective for glaucoma with persistent high IOP.
