Abstract:
Objective: To study the application of permcath dual lumen catheter for maintenance hemodialysis and nursing.
Methods: Sixteen patients with permcath dual lumen catheter and 25 patients with non-cuffed dual lumen catheter were selected. The blood flow, the catheter detaining time and the complication were observed.
Results: The blood flow of permcath dual lumen catheter was (221.5±19.28) ml/min and the retaining time of dual lumen catheter was (4.44±2.76) months. The blood flow of non-cuffed catheter was (180.00±14.43) ml/min and the retaining time of non-cuffed catheter was (0.96±0.45) months. The difference was significant between the two groups (
P<0.001).The incidences of complication were 25% and 68% in the two group, respectively. The difference was significant (P〈0.01).
Conclusions: The permcath dual lumen catheter is preferable in volume of blood flow and retaining time, and causes less complication when compared with the non-cuffed dual lumen catheter. It catheters for the patients who has difficulty in having an AtV fistula established.Cautious nursing and sterile operation can decrease the complication, prolong the service time of the catheters and improve the life quality of the patients.
