Abstract:
Objective: To explore the insulin resistance related factors among hypertensive population.
Methods: Two hundred and three hypertensive patients in community were included in this study; The medical history, physical examination data, the levels of fasting plasma glucose, fasting insulin(FIN),triglyceride(TG) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol of the patients were tested;setting the background population of 1/4 point(3.71) as the cutting point, the effect of different factors on insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) was analyzed after the HOMA-IR was calculated.
Results: The family history of hypertension and the course of disease had no correlation to HOMA-IR(
P>0.05),but the age of patients had negatively correlation to HOMA-IR(
P<0.01).Among the metabolism factors, obesity, high TG and glucose have positive correlation to HOMA-IR(
P<0.05).About the life styles, the intakes of animal foodstuff and low amounts of exercise have positive correlation to HOMA-IR(
P<0.05).In the regression analysis,BMI,age and systolic pressure were the influence factors, when the FIN was set as the independent variable.
Conclusions: Among the hypertensive population, different risk factors had different impacts on IR.Significant insulin resistance was usually related to individuals with bad life styles and metabolic syndrome. More
