Abstract:
Objective: To observe the advantages and disadvantages of continuous negative pressure drainage and compacted rubber cross drainage in parotid gland surgery.
Methods: Fifty-one patients with parotid gland were randomly divided into two groups:continuous negative pressure drainage group (group A,26 cases) and compacted rubber cross drainage group (group B,25 cases).The subjective comments of the patients and the clinic effects were taken into comparative analyses.
Results: Group A had the advantages of slighter pain,less interference with food intake,less complication and shorter hospital stay as compared with group B (
P<0.01).
Conclusions: Negative pressure drainage is superior to traditional rubber cross drainage in parotid gland surgery.
