Abstract:
Objective: To explore the expression and significance of interleukin-6 in epithelial ovarian carcinoma.
Methods: Twenty epithelial ovarian carcinomas and ten normal ovarian tissues were examined by Western blot and RT-PCR in the protein and mRNA level.
Results: The expression of IL-6 in epithelial ovarian carcinoma was obviously lower than that in normal ovarian tissue,both in protein and mRNA level,the difference had statistic significance(
P=0.000).
Conclusions: The low expression of interleukin-6 in epithelial ovarian carcinoma provides the experimental evidence for the further study on the the effect of interleukin-6 on the development of ovarian cancer.
