Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the relationship between the changes of serum immunoglobulins(Ig) and complement 3(C3) in neonates with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).
Methods: Forty-two neonates with HIE and 33 normal neonates at the same period were studied and their invenous blood was collected on first day after birth to analyze the quantities of serum Ig and C3.
Results: The quantities of IgG and IgA in the neonates with HIE were much higher than that of the control, but C3 was much lower than that of the control. The change was positively related to the clinical grading.
Conclusions: HIE is correlated with Ig and C3.The ascending of IgG and IgA,and descending of C3 may be an important marker of autoimmune reaction.
