Abstract:
Objective: To investigate the efficacy of surgery on delayed traumatic rupture of spleen,and to summarize the experience in the diagnosis and treatment.
Methods: Seventeen cases of delayed traumatic rupture of spleen were treated by surgical therapy.Ten cases were performed splenectomy,5 cases spleen repair and 2 cases splenic artery ligation plus partial spleen resection.
Results: Sixteen of the patients were cure and 1 died.
Conclusions: Patients with delayed traumatic rupture of spleen should be closely observed and monitored.Timely diagnosis is essential.Surgery remains the choice therapy.Spleen-preserving should be considered in the treatment.
