Abstract:
Objective: To explore the clinical effects of the balloon dilation technology combined with electronic laryngoscope in the treatment of maxillary sinus cyst.
Methods: Twenty-six patients with maxillary sinus cyst were treated with electronic laryngoscope inserting into the maxillary sinus through the expanded maxillary sinus ostium after maxillary sinus ostium balloon dilation under nasal endoscopy, and the maxillary sinus cyst was resected using biopsy forceps. The patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months, and clinical efficacy was evaluated.
Results: The maxillary sinus cyst in 26 patients were successfully resected. No postoperative nasal bleeding, nasal adhesion and nasolacrimal duct injury were found. The postoperative recurrence of maxillary sinus cyst in 1 case was identified, who was cured using electronic laryngoscope inserting into the maxillary sinus resecting again.
Conclusions: Balloon dilation technology combined with electronic laryngoscope in the treatment of maxillary sinus cyst can retain the complete anatomy structure, which is simple operation, small trauma, less pain, rapid recovery, fewer complication and an ideal operation method in the treatment of maxillary sinus cyst.
