Abstract:
Objective:To explore the surgical technique of the cranioplasty of digital forming titanium mesh.
Methods:The clinical data of 202 skull defect patients treated with cranioplasty of digital forming titanium mesh were retrospectively analyzed from March 2006 to March 2016.
Results:All patients recovered well, the head appearance is satisfactory, and the results of CT showed that the titanium mesh and skull is closely fit.The neurological dysfunction of all patients was significantly improved. The scalp effusion in 6 cases, local infection in 1 case, small intracerebral hematoma in 2 cases, preoperative epidural hematoma in 3 cases,a large number of epidural hematoma after shunt in 2 cases, and postoperative grand mal epilepsy in 2 cases were identified. No titanium mesh exposure, loosening, deformation, chewing pain and mouth restriction in all patients were observed.
Conclusions:Improving surgical technique can significantly reduce the complications of cranioplasty of digital forming titanium mesh.
