Abstract:
ObjectiveTo discuss the application value of monitoring nursing sensitive indicators on nursing quality management in intensive care unit(ICU).
MethodsThe monitoring group for nursing sensitive indicators was established in July 2014.The nursing sensitive indicators were screened, the staffs of the department were trained, and the data were collected. The collected data were linked to the nursing quality, the nursing problems were attributed to the analysis, and the nursing measures were actively adjusted to improve the nursing quality of the department.
ResultsThe average 24 h nursing time per inpatient in 2018 was shorter than that in 2017(P < 0.01).In 2016, 2017 and 2018, the head elevation rates of ICU patients were lower than that in 2015(P < 0.01), and the oral cleanliness of patients were higher than that in 2015(P < 0.01).The physical restraint rate and unplanned extubation of gastric tube in inpatients decreased year by year(P < 0.01).The incidence rate of ICU ventilator-related pneumonia in 2018 was higher than that in 2017(P < 0.01).
ConclusionsThe application of monitoring nursing sensitive indicators in nursing quality management can effectively improve the quality of care in ICU.
