Abstract:
ObjectiveTo know the current status and influencing factor of the demand of the home-based elderly care service in urban community elderly in Hefei city.
MethodsBy stratified multistage random sampling method, a questionnaire investigation was conducted among the elderly residents aged 60 and above in Hefei communities.
ResultsThe top four needs of elderly care service were the appointment service hotline(57.1%), meal assistance service(50.3%), medical care service(43.3%) and emergency rescue(34.6%).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the age of the elderly was positively correlated with the demand for home-based elderly care service, and the demand for home-based elderly care services of unmarried, divorced or widowed elderly were higher than those of married elderly(P < 0.05).The differences of home-based elderly care service demands of the elderly with different education levels were statistically significant(P < 0.05), the impact of family per capita monthly economic income on home-based elderly care service demands was relatively significant(P < 0.05), and the physical health generally had a significant impact on home-based elderly care service demands of the elderly(P < 0.05).The differences of the needs for home-based elderly care service among the elderly needing spouse care, child care, relatives care and nanny care were statistically significant(P < 0.05).
ConclusionsThe elderly are more willing to accept home-based care service, but their cognition needs to be further improved. The community home-based elderly care service should be precisely matched between supply and demand according to the demand of the elderly.
