ObjectiveTo explore the application effects of comprehensive nursing intervention measures during peri-catheterization of peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC) in elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

MethodsFifty-six non-small cell lung cancer patients during peri-catheterization of PICC were randomly divided into the observation group and control group(28 cases in each group).The control group was treated with routine nursing intervention, and the observation group was treated with comprehensive nursing intervention.The anxiety and depression scores, quality of life, satisfaction, health knowledge and treatment compliance were compared between two groups.

ResultsThe scores of anxiety and depression in observation group were lower than those in control group(P < 0.01).The score of quality of life in observation group was better than that in control group(P < 0.01).The health knowledge and treatment compliance in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P < 0.01 and P < 0.05).There was no statistical significance in the incidence rate of complications between two groups(P > 0.05).

ConclusionsThe application of comprehensive nursing intervention in elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer during PICC pericatheterization therapy has ideal effect, which can effectively reduce the adverse emotional impact and promote the improvement of quality of life of elderly patients.
