Abstract:
Objective:To explore the status of sleep quality of medical students and analyze its influencing factors for providing the basic data in improving the sleep quality of medical students.
Methods:Four hundred and twenty undergraduates from grade one to four in clinical medicine speciality were selected by stratified sampling.Among 420 students,400 questionnaires(95.2%) were analyzed.
Results:The total average score of Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI) was (6.05±2.585).The sleep disorder rate was 26.5%.The difference of the PSQI score between boy and girl students was statistically significant(
P<0.05).The results of binomial logistic regression analysis showed that the academic pressure, drinking strong tea or coffee before going to bed and dormitory environment were the main influencing factors of the sleep quality(
P < 0.05 to
P < 0.01),the
OR value and 95%
CI of which were 1.907(1.432 to 2.539),2.746(1.089 to 6.925) and 2.206(1.631 to 2.985),respectively.
Conclusions:The multi-factors can affect the sleep quality of medical students.Weakening the intervention of the academic pressure, drinking strong tea or coffee before going to bed and dormitory environment can be used to improve the sleep quality of medical students.
