Abstract: Objective: To explore the clinical effects of extarnal fixators combined with limited internal fixation in the treatment of unstable distal radius fracture in aged patients.Methods: Thirty-six aged patients with unstable distal radius fracture were treated with extarnal fixators combined with limited internal fixation.The extarnal fixators were removed in 6 to 8 weeks after operation and wrist function was trained.Results: All patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months.The fracture healing was good under X-ray.According to Aro's evaluation of the distal radial fracture, 21 cases were excellent, 11 cases good,3 cases fair and 1 case poor.The overall excellence rate was 88.9%.Conclusions: The extarnal fixators combined with limited internal fixation in the treatment of unstable distal radius fracture of aged patients is fastness and reliable,which can prevent the redisplacement and loss of fracture.The method is simple, less complications and good effects,which is worthy of application widely.
