Abstract: Objective: To investigate the mental health status of emergency nurse,the causes of psychological problems and seek proper measures. Methods: Sixty ordinary nurses and 60 emergency nurses from three tertiary general hospitals of Bengbu were investigated using Symptom Check List 90( SCL-90). Results: The total scores of SCL-90 and inquietude,depression,hostility,stubborn behvior and sensitively interpersonal relationship of emergency nurses were higher than those in domestic norm and ordinary medical and surgical nurses( P 0. 01 to P 0. 05). Conclusions: Attaching great importance to the emergency nurses mental health status and psychological problem causes and adopting effective means to alleviate psychological pressure of emergency nurses can maintain and improve their mental and physical health.
