Abstract
Objective: To investigate the blood-borne sharp injury status among medical staff in a tertiary hospital,analyze its reasons,and provide its improvement measures.Methods: The blood-borne sharp injury status among medical staff in a tertiary hospital were investigated using the self-making questionnaire,the different professional types of work,gender and units of whose were compared.Results: The blood-borne sharp injuries in 130 people from 901 questionnaires were found,the incidence rate of which was 14.4%.Forty-four cases were reported,the report rate of which was 33.8%.The perceived light injury(30.23%),oneself antibody(27.91%) and fluke mind(16.28%) were the main unreported reasons of injury.The differences of the report rate in different medical units,sources of exposure and degree of injury were statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusions: Strengthening the occupational protection training and awareness of occupational exposure among medical staff can improve the report level of the blood-borne sharp injury.
