    Stories of Nobel Prize owners influence the scientific training of medical students

    • Objective: To investigate the role of subject teaching and practice concerning the Nobel Prize owners in physiology or medicine on the training of medical students.Methods: The subject teaching,reports,speeches and debates concerning the Nobel Prize owners in physiology or medicine were launched in 300 medical sophomores of Bengbu Medical College(experiment group) and other 300 medical sophomores(control group) who did not participate in the activity;and all the students were investigated by questionnaires.The acknowledge of the importance of basic medical courses,the enthusiasm for basic medical courses,the desire to explore medical problems,and the influence on the scientific thinking and formation of scientific researching were evaluated and compared between the two groups.Results: More than 276 students in the experiment group presented positive performance.Compared with the control group,the experiment group displayed a higher proportion of excellent performance(P<0.01).Conclusions: The subject teaching and practice concerning the Nobel Prize owners in physiology or medicine have a positive effect on the training of medical students.It is worth popularizing in medical colleges.
