Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects of nursing on the elderly uremia patients during the induction period of hemodialysis. Methods: Eighty elderly uremia patients were randomly divided into the intervention group and control group(40 cases each group). The control group were nursed with conventional method, the intervention group were nursed with nursing intervention during induction period based on conventional method. The incidence of complications and scores of Quality of Life Questionnaire-C30(QLQ-C30) between two groups were compared. Results: The complications were found in 4 cases(including 2 cases of arrhythmia,1 case of hypotension and 1 case of disequilibrium syndrome) in intervention group during the induction period, the incidence of which was 10%.The complications were found in 17 cases(including 8 cases of arrhythmia(1 case died of malignant arrhythmia),6 cases of hypotension,3 cases of disequilibrium syndrome) in control group, the incidence of which was 42.5%.The difference of the incidence of arrhythmia between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of the mental, social and body functions of QLQ-C30 in intervention group were higher than those in control group(P<0.01).Conclusions: The nursing of the elderly uremia patients during the induction period of hemodialysis can obviously reduce the complications and improve the quality of life of patients, which is worthy of promotion in clinic.
