Expressions of soluble CD14 and membrane-bound CD14 in peripheral blood of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and its clinical significance

    • Objective:To explore the levels of soluble CD14(sCD14) and membrane-bound CD14(mCD14) in peripheral blood of patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA), and its relationship with RA.Methods:The serum levels of sCD14 in 78 RA patients and 50 healthy people were detected using ELISA.The levels of mCD14 in peripheral blood mononudear cells(PBMCs) of RA patients and healthy people were detected by flow cytometry method. The relationship between the expression levels of CD14 and RA was statistically analyzed. Results:The serum levels of sCD14 and mCD14 in RA patients were significantly higher than those in healthy people(P<0.01).The serum levels of sCD14 and mCD14 in active RA patients were significantly higher than those in paracmastic RA patients(P<0.01).Conclusions:The abnormal increasing of the sCD14 and mCD14 levels in peripheral blood of RA patients may be involved in the occurrence or development of RA.
