    Effect of the minimally invasive therapy of Cable-Pin system in the treatment of transverse patella fractures in 30 cases

    • Objective:To investigate the effects of the minimally invasive therapy of Cable-Pin system in the treatment of transverse patella fractures.Methods:Thirty cases with transverse patellar fractures were treated with minimally invasive therapy of Cable-Pin system.The X-ray, visual analog scale(VAS) of pain and range of motion in all cases were evaluated after operation.Results:The patients were followed up for 10 to 18 months.All fractures cured, the mean fracture healing time was 7 weeks.The VAS pain score at operation and after 4 weeks of operation were 3.2±1.4 and 1.4±1.3, respectively.The full range of motion in 28 patients and 10° loss of full flexion in 2 patients were found after fracture healing.Conclusions:The treatment of transverse patellar fracture with Cable-Pin system is low complication, which is a reliable method.
