Effect of self-mangement on patients with lumbar disc prolapse after traction therapy

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effects of self-management on the patients with lumbar disc prolapse after traction therapy.Methods: One hundred and thirty-four patients with lumbar disc prolapse after traction therapy were randomly divided into the control group and intervention group(67cases each group).The control group were taught with conventional health,the intervention group were treated with self-management.The clinical symptoms and self-management levels in two groups were evaluated by questionnaire at seeing doctor after 3 and 6 months of seeing doctor.Results: The clinical symptoms of the patients treated with self-management were markedly improved.The scores of clinical symptoms and self-management abilities in intervention group were significantly higher than those in control group after 3 and 6 months of seeing doctor(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusions: The treatment of the patients with lumbar disc prolapse with self-management can improve their self-management abilities and clinical symptoms.
