Correlation between the level of serum uric acid and acute cerebral infarction in young and middle-aged patients

    • Objective:To explore the relationship between the level of serum uric acid(UA) and acute cerebral infarction(ACI) in young and middle-aged patients.Methods:Ninty-six young and middle-aged patients with ACI and 100 healthy people were divided into the ACI group and control group, respectively. The fasting serum glucose, UA, triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein in two groups were compared. Results:The level of serum UA in ACI group(382±110)μmol/L was significantly higher than that in control group(266±101)μmol/L(P<0.01).The abnormal rate of UA in ACI group(32.99%) was significantly higher than that in control group(12.00%)(P<0.01).After triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein were adjusted, logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the level of serum UA was positive correlation with the ACI(OR=1.006, 95%CI:1.003 to 1.011, P<0.05).Conclusions:The level of serum UA is one of risk factors of ACI in young and middle-aged patients.
