Application of the combined detection of fasting plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin in physical examination

    • Objective:To investigate the value of the combined detection of fasting plasma glucose(FPG) and glycated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) in physical examination. Methods:The levels of FPG and HbA1c in 263 healthy people were detected, and their correlations were analyzed. Results:Among the HbA1c level of 263 healthy people, 139 cases was less than 5.5%, 88 cases was between 5.5% and 6.5% and 36 cases was more than 6.5%.FPG level of the physical examination people with HbA1c level higher than 6.5% was significantly higher than that of the HbA1c level less than 6.5% and between 5.5% and 6.5%(P<0.01).Pearson product moment correlation analysis showed that the level of HbA1c was positive correlation with FPG(P<0.01).Conclusions:The combined detection of HbA1c and FPG in healthy physical examination has important value in screening diabetes, which is worthy to be popularized.
