Clinical value of CEA and CA125 in the diagnosis of lung cancer

    • Objective:To explore the clinical value of the levels of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) and carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125) in the diagnosis of lung cancer. Methods:Fifty patients with lung cancer and 50 patients with benign lesion from June 2012 to May 2014 were divided into the lung cancer group and benign lesion group, respectively.Fifty healthy people were set as healthy control group. The serum levels of CEA and CA125 in 3 groups were detected using electrochemiluminescence, which was analyzed. Results:The levels of CEA and CA125 in lung cancer group were significantly higher than those in the benign lesion group and healthy control group(P<0.01), the differences of the levels of CEA and CA125 between the benign lesion group and healthy control group were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The differences of the positive diagnosis rate between the combined detection of CEA and CA125 and the single CEA or CA125 detection were not statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusions:The levels of CEA and CA125 in patients with lung cancer increase significantly. The detection of CEA and CA125 can provide the basis for early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
