Application of the intravenous continuous analgesia combined with internal fixation of ribs in the treatment of multiple fractures of multiple ribs

    • Objective:To explore the clinical application value of the intravenous continuous analgesia combined with internal fixation of ribs in the treatment of multiple fractures of multiple ribs.Methods:Fifty-four multiple fractures of multiple ribs patients were treated with the intravenous continuous analgesia for 4 to 10 days combined with internal fixation using rib claw plate during the perioperative period.Four cases were urgently operated,50 cases were operated after 2 to 5 d of injury. Results:The postoperative X-ray of chest showed that the contraposition of internal fixation of rib fractures, and lung recruitment were good, and no drug addiction case was found.StageⅠhealing in 51 cases and stage Ⅱ healing in 3 cases, and all cases cured.Fifty-two cases were followed up for 4 to 41 months. All X-ray of chest showed the rib fracture line disappeared, and no obvious chest deformity. All patients returned to normal life and work. Conclusions:The treatment of multiple fractures of multiple ribs with internal fixation using rib claw plate combined with continuous intravenous analgesia is safe and effective, low pain and good compliance, and which can obviously decrease the effects on respiratory system and circulatory system, and increase the satisfaction of patients.
