    The effect of MCI-186 on the expression of cytochrome C in hippocampus of epilepsy rats

    • Objective:To investigate the effects of MCI-186 on the expression of cytochrome C(Cyt C) in hippocampus of epilepsy rats induced by kainic acid(KA).Methods:The SD rats were randomly divided into the control group,seizure group,drug control group and MCI-186 group.The seizures model of rats were established by injecting KA into encephalocoele.The Cyt C expressions in cytoplasm and mitochondria were detected using Western-blot.Results:The Cyt C expressions in mitochondria in seizure group and drug control group were lower than that in MCI-186 group(P<0.01).The Cyt C expressions in cytoplasm in seizure group and drug control group were higher than that in MCI-186 group(P<0.01).Conclusions:MCI-186 may decrease the release of Cyt C from mitochondria to cytoplasm,and which can protect the hippocampus by inhibiting the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.
