The effect of terlipressin combined with somatostatin in the treatment of decompensated liver cirrhosis complicated with acute hemorrhage of upper digestive tract

    • Objective:To analyze the clinical effects of terlipressin combined with somatostatin in the treatment of decompensated liver cirrhosis complicated with acute hemorrhage of upper digestive tract.Methods:Forty-four patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis complicated with acute hemorrhage of upper digestive tract were randomly divided into the experimental group and control group according to random number table method(22 cases each group). The control group and experimental group were treated with terlipressin and terlipressin combined with somatostatin, respectively. The hemostatic effects, rebleeding, hemostasis time, mortality and hospitalization time between two groups were compared after 48h of treatment. Results:The effective rates of hemostasis in experimental group and control group were 95.4% and 72.7%,respectively,the difference of which was not statistical significance(P>0.05).The blood transfusion volume, hemostasis time and hospitalization time in experimental group were significantly less than those in control group(P<0.01).The differences of the incidence rate of rebleeding and mortality between two groups were not statistical significance(P>0.05).After treatment, the recovery time of blood pressure and urine volume, and speed of stool occult blood turning negative in experimental group were significantly faster than those in control group(P<0.01).The difference of the incidence of adverse reaction between the experimental group(13.6%) and control group(4.6%) was not statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusions:Terlipressin combined with somatostatin in treating liver decompensation complicated with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage is high hemostatic effectiveness, quick hemostasis time and high safety, which can short hospitalization time and decrease blood transfusion volume.
