Application of PDCA cycle management in hand hygiene of nursing staff

Objective: To investigate the application effects of PDCA cycle management in hand hygiene of nursing staff.Methods: Eighty-six nurses from 13 key departments of the hospital infection were treated with PDCA cycle management for continuous quality improvement,which was observed after treatment.Results: After the implemention of PDCA cycle management,the quality of hand hygiene was significantly improved.The knowledge awareness of hand hygiene was increased from 65.1% to 95.3%,the compliance rate of hand hygiene was raised from 70.9% to 91.9%,the differences of whose were statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusions: The application of PDCA cycle management for continuous quality improvement can effectively improve the quality of hand hygiene of nursing staff.
