    Effect of resveratrol on the invasion migration of Eca-109 cells and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

    • Objective:To investigate of the effects of resveratrol(RES) on the invasion migration of Eca-109 cells and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.Methods:The Eca-109 cells were treated with different dilutions(50 and 100 μmol/L) of RES,then the wound-healing were performed.The cell migration and invasion was detected by transwell chamber assays.The mRNA and protein expressions of E-cadherin,N-cadherin,Vimentin,MMP-2 and MMP-9 were evaluated using real-time quantitative PCR and Western blot,respectively.Results:Compared with the control group,the other two RES treatment group(50 and 100 μmol/L) could significantly inhibit the Eca-109 cell invasion and migration(P<0.01),increase the mRNA and protein expressions of N-cadherin,Vimentin,MMP-2 and MMP-9(P<0.05 to P<0.01),and increase the mRNA and protein expression of E-cadherin(P<0.01).Conclusions:Resveratrol can inhibit the invasion and migration of Eca-109 cells,which can be caused by down-regulating expressions of the MMP-2 and MMP-9,regulating the expressions of EMT protein(E-cadherin,N-cadherin and Vimentin),and inhibiting the epithelial mesenchymal transition process.
