The forecasting function of the coronary artery calcium score on the increasing of cardiac Troponin I and BNP levels in unstable angina pectoris after left anterior descending artery stenting

    • Objective:To evaluate the forecasting function of the coronary artery calcium score(CACS) on the increasing of cardiac Troponin I(cTnI) and Brain Natriuretic Peptide(BNP) levels in unstable angina pectoris after left anterior descending artery stenting. Methods:The levels of BNP and cTnI,and 64-slice coronary CTA scanning and CACS in 480 patients with unstable angina pectoris were detected before left anterior descending artery stenting. The patients were divided into group A(315 cases,CACS less than 100 points) and group B(165 cases,CACS equal to or more than 100 points) according to the left anterior descending artery calcification score. The levels of BNP and cTnI in all cases were measured after 24 h of left anterior descending artery stenting. Results:The differences of the preoperative levels of cTnI and BNP in group A and group B were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The postoperative levels of cTnI and BNP in group A and group B were significantly higher than the preoperative levels(P<0.01),and the postoperative levels of cTnI and BNP in group B were higher than those in group A(P<0.01).Conclusions:The high CACS has certain predictive value in the levels of cTnI and BNP after left anterior descending artery stenting.
