Abstract
Objective:To investigate the causes and characteristics of pesticide poisoning for providing the evidence in formulating the prevention and control strategies.Methods:The clinical data of 655 patients with pesticide poisoning from 2009 to 2013 were described in three fields and general features.Results:Among 655 cases with pesticide poisoning,29 cases died,the fatality rate of which was 4.43%.The fatality rate of 582 cases with life-pesticide poisoning was 4.81%.The 93.99% of life-pesticide poisoning was suicide patients using pesticide,the young women and elderly were the majority.The fatality rate of patients with pre-hospital treatment was less than that in patients without pre-hospital treatment(P<0.05).Conclusions:Pesticide poisoning has become a serious public health problem.Developing extensive health and safety publicity education,strengthening pesticide management,psychological intervention and technical training before hospital,and further improving the monitoring of pesticide poisoning should be implemented.
