Effect of Roy adaptation model on the physical and mental status in patients with pregnancy-hypertension disease

    • Objective:To explore the effects of the Roy adaptation model on the physical and mental status in patients with pregnancy-hypertension disease(PH). Methods:Eighty patients with PH were randomly divided into the control group(routine nursing group) and intervention group(Roy adaptation model nursing group)(40 cases each group). The quality of life and psychological situation in two groups were evaluated using the SF-36, and Hamilton depression scale(HAMD) & Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA), respectively. Results:Before the nursing intervention, the difference of the scores of SF-36 between two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05). After the nursing intervention, the scores of each dimension of SF-36 in intervention group were significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.01). Before the nursing intervention, the differences of the scores of HAMD and HAMA factors between two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05). After the nursing intervention, the scores of HAMD and HAMA factors were lower those in control group(P<0.01). Conclusions: The PH patients intervened with Roy adaptation model can significantly improve the psychological state and quality of life of patients.
