Abstract
Objective: To observe the effect of extensional nursing service on post-stroke deficient patients who were doing functional exercises at the recovering stage. Methods: Seventy patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group(n=35 in each) according to the diagnosis standard. The control group were given one time telephone follow-up after discharge from hospital, while the observation group were given telephone follow-up once a week and health education twice a month for a total of 8 weeks(2 months). At 1 week and 8 weeks after discharge, the patients in both groups were evaluated by using the Fugl-Meyer physical exercises function evaluation sheet and Barthel daily life ability data evaluation sheet. Results: The observation group obtained higher scores than the control group in Fugl-Meyer physical exercises function evaluation sheet and Barthel daily life ability data evaluation sheet (P<0.01). Conclusions: The extensional nursing service may enhance the compliance of post-stroke deficient patients doing functional exercises at the recovery phase and help to make their injured limb recover to the maximum extent.
