Effect comparison of the intervention guided by ultrasound and surgery in the treatment of lymphatic malformation

    • Objective:To compare the clinical effects between intervention guided by ultrasound and surgery in the treatment of lymphatic malformations(LMs).Methods:Among the thirty-five LMs patients diagnosed by ultrasound examination, 17 cases were treated with bleomycin intervention guided by ultrasound(intervention group), and 18 cases were treated with surgery(operation group). The clinical effect, recurrence rate and postoperative complication between groups were followed up.Results:The clinical effect in intervention group was better than those in operation group(P<0.05).The recurrence rates in intervention group and operation group were 11.76% and 33.33%, respectively. The difference of which was not statistically significant(P=0.229).No surgical scar, dysfunction and pulmonary fibrosis, and local infection in 1 case and fever in 8 cases in intervention group were found. No wound infection, important nerve damage and dysfunction, and wound exudate in 4 cases and operation scar in all cases in operation group were identified. Conclusions:The treatment of LMs with intervention guided by ultrasound is accurate, good efficacy, fewer complications and minimally invasive.
