The expression of microRNA-506 in cervical cancer and its clinical significance

    • Objective:To explore the expression of microRNA(miR)-506 in cervical cancer and its clinically pathological significance. Methods:The expressions of miR-506 in cervical cancer tissues and corresponding paracarcinoma tissues in 46 patients were detected using stem ring real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, the clinically pathological data were analyzed according to the miR-506 expression situation. The migration and invasion of Hela cells transfected with miR-506 were detected using Transwell, and the E-cadherin and vimentin protein expressions were detected using Western Blot. Results:The expression of MiR-506 in cervical cancer tissue was significantly lower than that in paracarcinoma tissues(P<0.01).The expression of MiR-506 in type Ⅲ/Ⅳ cervical cancer tissue was significantly lower than that in type Ⅰ/Ⅱ cervical cancer tissue(P<0.01).The expression of MiR-506 in low differentiation cervical cancer tissue was significantly lower than that in high differentiation cervical cancer tissue(P<0.01).The expression of MiR-506 in patients with lymph node metastasis was significantly lower than that in patients without lymph node metastasis(P<0.01).The differences of the MiR-506 expressions in different ages, menostasis and tumor diameters were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The migration and invasion of Hela cells transfected with miR-506 was significantly lower than those in Hela cells non-transfected with miR-506(P<0.01).The expressions of vimentin and E-cadherin in Hela cells transfected with miR-506 were inhibited and promoted, respectively(P<0.01).Conclusions:The expression of miR-506 in cervical cancer is low, which may be associated with tumor growth and development of cervical cancer, the miR-506 has certain value in judging the prognosis of cervical cancer.
