The effect of subclinical hypothyroidism complicated with anemia on pregnant outcome

    • Objective:To investigate the effects of subclinical hypothyroidism complicated with anemia on puerpera and neonate, and its preventive measures. Methods:Four hundred and one pregnant women were divided into the subclinical hypothyroidism(161 cases, group Ⅰ), subclinical hypothyroidism complicated with anemia(82 cases, group Ⅱ), and normal puerpera(158 cases, group Ⅲ) according to the thyroid function and blood routine level. The incidences of postpartum hemorrhage, cesarean section, oligohydramnios, amniotic fluid contamination, fetal distress and neonatal asphyxia and small gestation age between three groups were compared. Results:The incidences of cesarean section in group Ⅰ and Ⅱ, and amniotic fluid pollution and fetal distress in group Ⅱ were higher than those in group Ⅲ(P<0.05).There were no statistical difference in other indexes between three groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:The subclinical hypothyroidism complicated anemia has adverse effects on pregnancy outcome, the prevention of which should be strengthened.
